To watch: Logic1000 | Dance music
TToo often in dance music, the melody is treated as something you are forced to endure while waiting for the beat to pick up. A little sugar with your medicine. Samantha poulter knows better. stellar sound Logic 1000 the productions happily let off steam across genres, but always contain a gripping melody. House music is her heart, but a teenage love for Destiny’s Child and Missy Elliott springs from wonderfully idiosyncratic songs such as N / A and Perfume.
Poulter released tracks online under the DJ Logic name for a few years, until another DJ Logic enforced a cease and desist order. Relaunched in 2019 as Logic1000, the raw emotion and the bass to thrill from its first 12 inches, DJ Logic please forgive me, took Poulter to another level. His music is equally powerful in or out of clubs, with songs such as What you want seeking sympathy between Bicep and Mazzy Star.
Poulter moved to Berlin last year, but grew up in Sydney, playing drums in his sister’s spaghetti western rock band, working in retail, childcare and mental health. In 2022, she will be back in the DJ booth, after a break from the pandemic and a new baby. She also plans to work on her debut album, although she has no idea what it will look like. “My music is very spontaneous,” she says. “I am not a logical thinker! ”
