Gujarat’s month-long Megh Malhar Parv promises exciting activities for tourists

Gujarat Tourism has organized a month-long Megh Malhar Parv 2022 in the Saputara hill station of Gujarat which started on July 30 and will run till August 30. The Gujarat Tourism Development Corporation has organized the monsoon festival at Gujarat’s only hill station, Saputara. It started on July 30, Saturday and ends on August 30.

The Megh Malhar Festival will offer a wide range of cultural events, entertainment activities and traditional festivities to attract both domestic and international tourists to the stunning hilly destination of Gujarat – Saputara.

This month-long annual monsoon festival is expected to interest tourists with a series of competitions such as Dahi Handi, Rain Run Marathon, Boat Racing and Nature Treasure Hunt on Janmashthmi. Weekends and holidays will be bustling with activities such as Dangi dance performances, quiz competitions, seminars and competitions such as music, rangoli and photography competitions. This month-long festival will also feature artistic and creative workshops like photography, fine art painting, bamboo crafts, Warli painting and other events.

The festival was inaugurated by Minister of Tourism Purnesh Modi and the ceremony was also honored by Mangalbhai Gavit – Chairman, District Panchayat – Dang, MP Dr. KC Patel, MLA Shri Vijay Patel, Alok Kumar Pander, Managing Director, Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd., Bhavin Pandya – Collector (Dang) and other dignitaries.

Over the past two decades, Saputara has become a popular tourist destination due to its breathtaking beauty during monsoons. Among the main attractions in Saputara, the most popular are Governor Hill, Balasinor Dinosaur Museum Eco Point, Rope-way, Shabri Dham, Dangi local dance, Waghai Botnical Garden.
