Cresfest is a new three-day Victorian music and dance festival

In April 2022, the historic town of Creswick, nestled between Daylesford and Ballarat, will hold its first music and dance festival.

After a crazy few years of postponed and canceled festivals, the news of a brand new regional festival is music to our festival-ready ears.

CresFest is the brand new regional music festival bringing together celebrated local, regional and national artists of contemporary folk and world music for a weekend of revitalizing musical encounters in the wooded gold rush town of Creswick, between Daylesford and Ballarat.

Held over three days, from Friday April 1 to Sunday April 3, the festival put on an impressive line-up for its inaugural edition featuring acclaimed Indigenous singer Emma Donovan and Melbourne rhythm combo The Putbacks, the internationally acclaimed songwriter and respected Eric Bogle Trio, Melbourne folk icons The Maes, Kuku Yalanji, Jirrbal, singer Zenadth Kes Kee’ahn and Lucy Wise, a folk artist from Malmsbury.

Other artists include Amie Brulee, Jali Buba Kuyateh, Pete Denahy, Parvyn & Josh, Sapphire Bollywood Ensemble, The Royal High Jinx, FOOLS, Evan and Mischa, Melbourne Scottish Fiddlers, Sweet Monas, Kat Mear, Zourona and Stella Savy, among so many others. others.

Showcasing the town and its local pubs, cafes, forests and unique outdoor spaces, punters can sit and enjoy the shows in several unique spaces, sample local wine and produce, explore the town’s history and enjoy premium accommodation options.

A community festival at its heart, punters will also have the opportunity to perform and join in the festivities throughout the weekend with Blackboard concerts, sessions in various genres, a local talent quest, a family dance, a busking contest, a youth stage, and music and dance workshops for all ages.

Festival passes are available for purchase for $80, giving bettors access to loads of concerts, films, talks, shows and workshops throughout the weekend. Special event tickets are also available, guaranteeing seats for featured performers.

Full of natural beauty, Creswick is just 1.5 hours’ drive from Melbourne on the Maryborough V/Line route.
